Waiting for WAAARG!!!

There are some things in life that are worth waiting for. Warhammer: Age of Reckoning, is definitely one of those things. Like many mmo gamers out there I am stuck with a preorder for the collectors edition of this game and a strong want to play it. Here in RI I have a few friends, and one in the midwest, who will be leaving our old home of World of Warcraft to play this game.

Warhammer Online seems like it is going to cause a rift in the gaming population. I know that a lot of the annoying people that you see in WoW's PvP will be there at the begining, but I think the differneces in WAR's RvR system will keep them away in the long run. This type of PvP will take a much bigger commitment than the average arena match or Warsong Gulch match. I have seen how RvR works in Dark Age of Camalot, and it made that game great, although I feel it could have been much much more. I, like many others, truly hope that Mythic Entertainment, now under the umbrella of Eletronic Arts as EA Mythic, steps up and makes WAR the game we all hope it will be.

I've actually been doing a lot of thinking about the time I spend in my mmo worlds and why I am there. A part of it is the story that the game has, some of it is the fun of taking on other players in pvp. What I think is the biggest part tho, is the community that the game has. Much like when I play Dungeons & Dragons, its the players and even the friends I have outside my small gaming group that make the experience that much more fun. I don't think that I would still be in Azeroth today if I didn't have a great group of friends to share the time with.
