An Ork by Any Other Name...

With WAR's recent announcement of guild beta I've had a lot to think about, including what the hell I am going to call my guild. A few local and not so local friends of mine are banding together to create a WAR guild as we only need six people to start up. All the basics were relatively easy, I started pricing a guild package for a ventrilo server and guild website, I recruited the remainder of people we had to fill out the guild, made sure we had the proper roles filled in, etc... The one and only thing that eludes us at this point is a name. So, I thought I would dedicate this post to what makes a guild name great.

There are some guild names out there that we will never forget, Death and Taxes, Nihilum, Mongbat, And Two Stealth Rogues, and the list goes on. Some are memorable because of their accomplishments, others are famous for the way they made you chuckle in that last battleground. How do you choose tho, do you start with something epic sounding just so when you do get to do great deeds you know your guild name will echo across the land like the hum of a blade through a stunties throat, or do you go for the laugh factor? Recently one of my guildies, Matt "the Hobbit," suggested that we go with Those Jerks from Pod Six, A reference to the great Sealab 2021. While it is a hillarious name, It doesn't play too well with the IP of Warhammer Online. Suggestions from our guildies have been few and far between, which only goes to show the degree of dificulty in trying to name a guild. I'm sure by launch we will have a much better idea of what our identity will be, as all of us have collector's editions of WAR on order and should have a seat in open beta.

My question to the community, and not just the WAR community but all you MMO players out there, is simple. What should we call our guild?
